Renovation or a new lift?
Most people picture renovation like this: mirrored panels, new buttons, a different ceiling. The car looks new, but the lift runs exactly as it did before. On this page we show in plain terms what lift modernisation really gives you, what a new lift gives you, what it costs and how long it takes.
What really changes
Cosmetic refurbishment and a new lift
At first both look similar: the car is new. The difference shows not on the first day but three years later.

Three terms that are often confused
Refurbished car
- Only what you see is replaced: panels, ceiling, lighting, buttons
- The mechanics, drive and safety stay the same
Modernised lift
- Along with the appearance, the machinery and worn parts are replaced
- Suitable when the shaft and main structure are still in good condition
New lift
- The old lift is removed and a new one is installed in the same shaft
- New mechanics, new safety and a new service life
What it looks like afterwards
Two buildings, two old shafts
In both, the lift was replaced with a new one without changing the shaft. From the stairwell only the new doors are visible; the difference is felt inside and during the ride.
If you only want to refresh the look
We will do that too, but we will be honest with you
We will replace the buttons, ceiling and panels without replacing the whole lift. But this is cosmetic: it improves neither the ride nor safety, it only postpones replacing the lift. If that is what the building or lift owner wants, we do it without any persuasion.
In that case we tell you straight away roughly how long the lift will last and what to expect from it, so that the decision two years later is not a surprise.
How it is paid for
Payment for housing associations
For housing associations of apartment buildings, we can spread the price of a new lift over an individual payment schedule. The schedule is agreed with the association board and approved by a decision of the meeting of apartment owners. The price is clear in advance, with no hidden charges.

The offer applies to housing associations of apartment buildings. Terms are agreed individually; exact terms are provided with the proposal after the free inspection.

Timescales
How soon the lift is running
About 12 weeks
An approximate time from signing the contract to a working lift. The exact timescale is always individual, because every lift is made to your shaft's dimensions. The finish, car interior and control panel are also tailored to your choice, so production only starts once the contract is signed.
24 months and 5 years
The manufacturer's warranty on a new lift is 24 months, and under Article 6.698 of the Civil Code of the Republic of Lithuania installation work carries a 5-year warranty. We can take over maintenance if you wish: our emergency team is on call all year round and arrives within 45 min. in Western Lithuania.

Which lift we install
The three most commonly chosen sizes in the OSTEN standard series. The same lifts suit an apartment building, a hotel or an office, and the car, control panel and finish are adapted to the site.
For a small building
- The most economical solution for a small or renovated building
- Fits a narrow shaft in an older building
- Lower electricity consumption, quiet gearless motor
For a medium-sized building
- The most common choice in medium-sized buildings
- A good balance of car size and price
- Suitable for both new buildings and replacing an old lift
For a large building
- Fits a wheelchair user with an accompanying person
- Convenient for furniture, a bicycle or a pushchair
- For heavier traffic and taller buildings
While the lift owner decides

For Schindler, KONE, OTIS, Orona, Soviet-era or other lifts, we order the part you need and carry out the repair, even if we did not install the lift. We hold permanent licence No. 46 for the maintenance of hazardous equipment, covering all types of lifting equipment.
