For architects and designers

Dimensions you can put straight into your drawing

Shaft, machine room and pit dimensions, MR and MRL designs, load capacities from 450 to 10,000 kg. Open to everyone, no registration and no waiting for someone to email you a catalogue.

Where the decision starts

With or without a machine room

Each of our lift types is made in both versions. A machine room is planned where the lift is heavy-duty or where easy maintenance matters. Machine-room-less lifts are most common in reconstruction projects, where there is no room to build above the shaft.

MR

With a machine room

A separate room above the shaft houses the traction machine and the control panel. It is chosen for heavy-duty lifts and when easy maintenance matters: the machine and control panel are reached in a separate room, without climbing into the shaft.

  • Headroom from 3600 mm
  • Pit from 1400 mm
  • Requires an additional room above the shaft, e.g. 3000 × 2500 × 2500 mm
  • Chosen for heavy-duty lifts
  • Easier maintenance: the machine is reached in a separate room
MRL

Without a machine room

The traction machine is installed in the shaft itself. No separate room is needed, leaving more floor area in the building.

  • Headroom from 4200 mm
  • Pit from 1500 mm
  • No room above the shaft needed at all
  • The most common choice in reconstruction projects
The trade-off in one sentence. The MRL version needs more headroom than MR, but in return no room above the shaft is needed. So in reconstruction projects, where nothing can be built above the shaft, MRL is often the only realistic option. A machine room remains where the lift is heavy-duty or easier maintenance is wanted.

Technical data

Dimension tables

The data are indicative and intended for preliminary design. Exact dimensions are agreed individually before the final design is approved, because every site has its own conditions.

Passenger lift with a machine room

For apartment buildings, offices and administrative buildings. Dimensions shown are for the lowest-speed option.

PassengersLoad capacitySpeedCar W×D×H (mm)Doors (mm)Shaft (mm)Headroom (mm)Pit (mm)Machine room (mm)
5450 kg1.0 m/s950 × 1070 × 2150700 × 21001550 × 1750360014003000 × 2500 × 2500

As speed increases, so does the building. At 1.5 or 1.75 m/s, the headroom increases to 3800 mm and the pit to 1600 mm.

Passenger lift without a machine room

The same passenger numbers, but without a room above the shaft. In exchange, more headroom is needed.

PassengersLoad capacitySpeedCar W×D×H (mm)Doors (mm)Shaft (mm)Headroom (mm)Pit (mm)
5450 kg1.0 m/s950 × 1070 × 2300700 × 21001700 × 140042001500
8630 kg1.0 m/s1100 × 1400 × 2300800 × 21001800 × 180042001500
131000 kg1.0 m/s1100 × 2100 × 2300900 × 21001800 × 250042001500
Where this matters. In reconstruction projects where there is no space for a machine room above the shaft, this is the only option without altering the building's structure.

Hospital lift

An elongated car designed for stretchers, accompanying staff and medical equipment. With a machine room.

Optional extras Braille, voice floor announcements and additional safety systems. Suitable for hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes and medical centres.

Service lift with a machine room

For frequent, intensive movement of goods within a site: warehouses, kitchens, logistics areas.

Dimensions shown are for the lowest speed. Higher speeds are available for each capacity, in which case the headroom and pit depth increase accordingly.

Escalator

Indicative data for planning the opening and heights. The exact structural solution is prepared according to the rise and site conditions.

Inclination30° or 35°
Lifting height1500–20,000 mm
Speed0.5–0.75 m/s
Step width600–1000 mm
Motor power5.5–15 kW

For a travelator (horizontal or inclined transport, inclination 0–12°), dimensions are agreed individually according to the space.

For reconstruction projects

You have an existing shaft

If you are not designing from a blank sheet but around what is already in the building, we can choose a solution to fit the existing dimensions. You don't need to adapt the building to the lift; usually it works the other way round.

  1. You send the shaft dimensions or an extract from the drawing
  2. You get an answer on what fits and under what conditions
  3. If needed, we come to the site and measure it ourselves
  4. You receive a full technical specification for the project
